AAAA Hosts Arkansas Ag Secretary
On December 9th several members of the AAAA hosted Arkansas Ag Secretary and the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics at Tommy’s Flying Service in Sherrill. Tommy Anderson, Michael Hutchins, Jerald Burns, Derek Hallum, Brian Hawkins, David Strohl, and Dennis Gardisser along with Executive Director, Katherine Holmstrom and Melissa Moody and David Dunn from Capitol Partners met with Arkansas Agriculture Department Secretary Wes Ward and Richard Mills and Lily Roberts from the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics.
Dennis Gardisser gave Mr. Ward and overview of the Ag Aviation industry by discussing the skill and precision that each pilot and aircraft must have and how aerial application is a critical component of high-yield agriculture. After a tour of Tommy’s facility Michael took Mr. Ward up for a quick flight to give him an up-close experience to ag aviation.
Since one of his first request was to be flown around like a cropduster and Michael happily obliged, we feel like the visit was a great success. We look forward to working with Mr. Ward, the Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Aeronautics more in the future.
