Vintage Aircraft |
 |
Thought you might like these vintage drop dusting day photos for your website's photo section. My dad's Stearmans and Cub in duster/sprayer configuration.
Dad's operation, initially Rice & Neely Cropdusting, later Bootheel Flying Service, was in Southeast Missouri from 1946 to 1980. This photo was likely taken in the late 40s or early 50s. The location is either Senath or Bragg City, MO.
The Super Cubs and Stearman used through 1959 when he converted over to 150 Pawnees (three total). Location is Caruth, MO.
A non-spray Cub, but with Rice & Neely logo. Sorry for poor color.
The old Kodachrome is badly yellowed and I can't color correct worth a darn.
Dad's primary ag plane 1946-1959 a 1941 Stearman he named Old Suzy, N50091. Photo taken around 1951-52.
Second photo is the same Stearman, now restored to stock, owned by Bart's Flying Service of Storm Lake, Iowa. Submitted by Jim Rice, Missouri

AN2 |

My friend Stole flying an AN-2, dusting for Bubachki, (Insects) in Macedonia. He is a fan of your site and noticed that there were no pics of AN-2's posted. He is one of only 5 qualified ag pilots in Macedonia. All of the ag flying here is done in AN-2's including quite a bit of mountain flying fighting beetles that are killing pine trees., Hope you like the pics. Submitted by Brent, Skopje, Macedonia |

It was the only one in the GDR and it was an option of the normal Kruk built by PZL in Poland! The new Registration is D-FOAB, the former is DDR-TAB. My father was flying the single seated version until 1990. Before he got the PZL, he was flying the Zlin Z-37 since 1969. Submitted by Rocco Huth, Berlin Schoenefeld, Germany. |
