Obituary for Eddie Henry Andrews

By Bruce Andrews
December 6, 2016 started as usual here at Bruce’s Flying Service, Inc. But, quickly changed with the passing of Eddie Andrews. Eddie and I started working together 37 years ago here in Arlington, Georgia for my dad and Eddie’s brother, Fred Andrews. Eddie and I was taught from the ground up in this industry. We learned to fly, load airplanes, run all ground operations and most all maintenance of agricultural aircraft, primarily the Thrush aircraft. We flew this aircraft and maintained our fleet 37 years, with many thousands of hours spent together doing the job we loved. He and I always had one another’s back and when adversity showed its head we stuck together. He never left me to stand alone. He was always there for me! We did not always agree on different issues or situations, but agreed to disagree because we always new where our focus should be and that was to get to the goals we set for ourselves years ago.

Eddie was the best business partner and colleague working on planes and in the shop that anyone could ask for. He was always the go-to-guy because of his knowledge and patience. He was a teacher to many and most of all, had a pleasant way about him toward his fellow man. He also loved his family and they were always put first before his needs or wants. When he was not working here at the airport, he took time with his girls to teach them to drive, ride horses, handle firearms safely and to take care of themselves in the many situations life has to offer. He will be greatly missed!

So, God Speed to Eddie, my Uncle/Brother, partner and closest friend as he flies over the horizon until I do the same where I know he is waiting for me. We’ll belly up to the back of the pickup truck and dig into an ice chest and for a cold one and talk about old times. Love you my Brother!
